- Be Self-disciplined
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again
and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein 1879-1955
You must transcend ego-centred thinking to be able to manifest. The absence of thought allows the Universal Wisdom Mind to function without limits. This is the power that creates manifestation. This means that you need to create a state of silence within your mind and maintain this as much as you can. Pause. Rest. Be. Meditation is the process that opens up the path for true wealth creation. Your own thoughts, on the other hand, are your barrier to manifestation. When your thoughts are controlled, the barriers are released and all of the creative energies of manifestation can increase without any limitations.
The ability to control your thoughts, is about understanding the whole operation of your mind, and knowing what to do to increase the power of your deeper, intuitive, wisdom mind.
- Be optimistic. Do not think, say or do negative things. Examples include seeing problems in every opportunity; complaining, blaming and cursing… that the sun is too hot, the rain ruined your plans for the day, the wind ruined your hair; thinking that everyone is against you; seeing the problems but never the solutions. When every little bit of difficulty is exaggerated to the point of tragedy, and failures are regarded as catastrophes, you become discouraged easily, instead of learning from your mistakes. You never seem to move forward because you’re always afraid of coming out of your comfort zone.
- Consider your actions. Do not act before you think. When your moves are based on mindless impulses, for instance, if you see something you like, you buy it at once without giving it a second thought. Then you might see something better later, and regret and curse that you are not able to take advantage of that bargain. Then you spend and spend again until nothing’s left. You don’t think about the future. What you’re chasing is the instant gratification you will experience for the present, without thinking about consequences.
- Practise deep listening. Often, when people are anxious, or want to be the star of the show, they talk more than they listen. They find themselves engaged in talking to make themselves a hero, sometimes, even to the point of lying. Often you are not aware that what you’re saying is not sensible anymore. When other people advise you of this, you close your ears to it, because you’re too proud to admit your mistakes. In your mind, you’re always correct. You reject suggestions because that makes you feel inferior. Find the humility to address this and the thinking processes that lead to it.
- Learn to complete. Do not give up easily. Treat failures as stepping stones to success, rather than calling it quits when you recognise the first signs of failure. If at first, you feel excited to start an endeavor, don’t lose interest fairly quickly, especially when you encounter errors and then go in search for a new endeavour. Same story, same results. To be competent, you need to cultivate the persistence to go on and fulfill your dreams.
- Do not try to bring others down to your level. The reason for this is envy of other successful individuals. Instead, work hard to be like them, rather than spreading rumors about them, and trying every dirty trick to bring them down. Don’t be too proud to ask advice from those you envy. Know that at the end of the day, if you are too negative, you won’t accomplish anything much.
- Be productive with your life. Don’t waste your time. Some people may just be contented to eat, get drunk, watch TV, or worse, stare at a screen, with no thoughts whatsoever about improving their lives. They don’t know what to do next. It’s perfectly fine to enjoy your life. But time needs to be managed efficiently in order to succeed. There must be a proper balance between work and pleasure.
- Know that what you reap is what you sow. Don’t take the easy way out. Efforts and actions will not go unnoticed. If you are willing to sacrifice a little, you would be much better off. If there are two roads to choose from, notice whether you choose the wider road with less rewards than the narrower road with much better rewards at the end.
- Wanting a good life doesn’t equate to avoiding all suffering or hardship. Understand the difference between what is pleasurable and what is good. Make it through trials and errors and never give up. Be willing to do everything necessary to achieve what you aspire for in life.
Wealth is absolutely not built in a single day. It is the result of several small things that have piled up and compounded over your lifetime. So wealth building, significantly relies on your everyday habits, which comprise saving, investing, reinvesting, and becoming financially and business savy. Simply speaking, wealth building demands a great deal of discipline.
Without discipline, you are going to fall prey to the main wealth killers, which are procrastination and a lack of courage. Discipline yourself and initiate correct habits now, without delay.
